Saipan Chamber of Commerce to host 2nd Annual Economic Forum on May 16

(SCC) — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its 2nd Annual Economic Forum, featuring a diverse panel of stakeholders for the purpose of analyzing economic conditions, challenges, and opportunities. The forum will take place on Thursday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Taga Hall in World Resort Saipan.

The Economic Forum’s opening speaker is Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona, from the District Court of the Northern Mariana Island. The keynote speaker is President Galvin Deleon Guerrero, EdD, of Northern Marianas College.

The panelists include Dave Burger from Burger Comer Associates, Tracy Norita from the CNMI Department of Finance, Ray Yumul from the CNMI Department of Public Works, Chris Sablan from the CNMI Office of Planning and Development, Danny Aquino from the Commonwealth Bureau of Military Affairs, Leila Staffler from the CNMI Department of Labor, Gloria Cavanagh and Judy Torres from the Marianas Visitors Authority, Ernie Galito from the Guam Chamber of Commerce, Philip Mendiola-Long from the Tinian Chamber of Commerce, Dave Guerrero from the Commonwealth Economic Development Authority, and  economist Matthew Guerrero from Hive Analytics.

The SCC’s Economic Forum offers a platform for stakeholders in the CNMI to come together, share forecasts, address challenges, and propose solutions to an audience composed of business leaders, government officials, and the general public.

SCC invites all members, and future members, to attend and hear from our esteemed panel speakers about the pressing economic issues that will influence growth in the Northern Mariana Islands.

Join the chamber for an informative session with rates for SCC members at $25 per person and future-SCC members at $35 per person, this rate will include light refreshments and beverages. Proceeds of the event will go towards the SCC Annual Scholarship program that supports our local youth achieve higher education.
