THE Tinian Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of seven new members to its board of directors.
John D. Attao will head the military committee, Daria Cing and Neal Eisgrou will be the treasurer and secretary.
Allen Perez will guide the legislative committee while Liza Power will be the public relations and social media curator.
The vice president and president are Journie Hofschneider and Philip Mendiola-Long.
“With our new members I look forward to exploring new ways to expand our membership,” Long-Mendiola said. “To encourage and mentor new businesses on Tinian so our people are not only hosts, but also stakeholders in the effort to guarantee that this new future for Tinian is beneficial to everyone. With the many changes facing Tinian’s future, it is vital that we have a healthy and active chamber of commerce.”
A retired U.S. Air Force member, John D. Attao is currently a V.A coordinator for the CNMI Veterans Affairs Office of Tinian.
Daria Cing is an entrepreneur with Cing Enterprises and is a former Bank of Guam branch operations manager.
Neal Eisgrou operates the popular establishment, J.C. Café, since 2003.
Allen Perez is chief of staff at the Tinian Mayor’s Office, and is a former chamber of commerce treasurer, secretary and vice president.
Liza Power, who recently moved back home, is a former store manager of Chanel Guam, and is the owner of Power Builders International and consultant for FPA Pacific Corp.
Journie Hofschneider, who also recently moved home, is a former manager of the liquor and cannabis regulations branch in British Columbia, Canada with 15 years of experience. She is currently vice chairwoman and commissioner of the CNMI Cannabis Commission, and operator of Tinian Laid, which produces farm fresh eggs.
Philip Mendiola-Long, CEO of Sherman Consulting LLC and Tinian Fuel Services Inc. since 1998, has been an officer of the chamber since 1997.
“The Tinian Chamber of Commerce plays a vital role in fostering economic growth and supporting local businesses,” said Vice President Journie Hofschneider. “I am ready to collaborate with fellow members on new strategies and initiatives that promote and attract investment and create job opportunities,” she added.
