But underwater photography is a totally aspect in photography. Taking photos with an oxygen tank strapped to your back and a mask on your face is a whole different world than when you take photos of anybody and anything on land. Steadying
your hand to take a picture with the strong current is different from positioning your camera on a tripod.
For Kotaro Tsujino of Underwater Adventures, it all adds up to the thrill and adventure.
Everyday, Tsujino and his team takes photos and videos of tourists who flock to Managaha.
Tsujino said he had been photographing and taking underwater video of divers for several years, including events like underwater weddings.
“Divers want souvenirs in their dives and we provide them with hard copies or CDs of their photos,” Tsujino said.
He said that tourists and other divers can have their photos printed from $5 and up, depending on the size.
Underwater Adventures caters to the tourists at Managaha like all the other concessionaires of Tasi Tours on the island.
“We have been here for over a year and other tourists from other countries come and visit after seeing photos of the beautiful island,” he said. He said that underwater photography is one avenue of drawing more tourists and boosting the economy of the island.
Tsujino and his assistants work hand in hand with the dive instructors who bring tourists down to the beautiful underwater world of Managaha.
