THE Rotary Club of Saipan on Tuesday received a $3,000 donation from McDonald’s Saipan for its annual fundraising event, the Rotary McFun Run.

McDonald’s Saipan marketing manager Ana Set Olaes turned over the check during the club’s weekly meeting at the Giovanni’s Restaurant of Hyatt Regency.

Olaes was accompanied by executives with Tan Siu Lin Foundation, which is co-sponsoring the Rotary McFun Run set for Feb. 22, Saturday.

Club president Marcia Ayuyu, who is also co-owner of McDonald’s Saipan, said the club has been collaborating with the Tan Siu Lin Foundation and McDonald’s Saipan for six years now.

Ayuyu expressed appreciation for the support of the business sector, adding that as of Tuesday, 160 individuals had already registered for the 5K event.

“Let us continue to invite our friends and other community members to join the McFun Run,” she told her fellow Rotarians.

Registration starts at 5:30 a.m. and the fun run begins at 6:15 a.m.

The registration fee for an adult participant is $15 while the fee for a 17-year-old or younger is $10.

The first 200 registrants will get a free t-shirt. Refreshments will be available and prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.

Registration forms are available at NMPASI, Mega Byte, the McDonald’s main office, and from Rotarians.

Ayuyu said the proceeds of the fun run will fund Rotary’s community projects on Saipan.
