(JKPL) — This week, in celebration of Read Across America Day, aka Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library invites you and your little ones to a carnival of crafts, Mommy-and-Me Reading Time, face painting, Dr. Seuss photo stage, special guest Dr. Seuss and read aloud activities in the Children’s Library. • Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Seuss-inspired Toddler Read Aloud and Crafts at 10:30 a.m.

• Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Family Read Aloud and Craft. Join us for Family Movie Day at 1 p.m. featured movie is “Cats,” rated PG

Read Across America Day, also known as Dr Seuss Day, is a yearly observance in the USA inaugurated by the National Education Association. It is held on the school day that is nearest to March 2, Dr. Seuss birthday. Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American artist, book publisher, animator, poet, a political cartoonist as well as an author. He is best known for authoring over 60 children’s books.

Effective March 14, 2020, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library’s revised hours of operation will be Wednesday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and closed Sundays, Mondays, Austerity Tuesdays, and holidays.
