THE Friends of CW celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday by distributing care packages to workers on CW-1 permits who have been furloughed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organizer Irene Nepomuceno-Holl said they prepared 80 packages for the third round of distribution on Sunday at the Garapan Round House.

On May 1, the group distributed 60 care packages to furloughed CWs.

Nepomuceno-Holl said they will have another distribution on May 17, adding that her group continues to receive cash and in-kind donations.

One of the volunteers, Alma Basilgo, who is an ER nurse at the Commonwealth Health Center, said the recipients must present their CW-1 permits and identification card.

“We also check the individual’s current employment and address on island,” she added.
