THE Commonwealth Utilities Corp. on Wednesday reconnected the office of Imperial Pacific International LLC at Vestcor to the CUC power grid.

The IPI office was disconnected on Tuesday for non-payment of utility bills.

CUC Executive Director Gary Camacho said he cannot disclose the amount because “their account is their business — they have the right to privacy” like any other private customer.

CUC cannot talk about the accounts of private customers, he added.

Camacho said CUC is still providing power to the IPI casino-resort construction site in Garapan.

Before the coronavirus crisis hit Saipan, he said IPI was receiving 2.2 megawatts to 2.3 megawatts of power from CUC.

Since March 17, 2020, IPI has shut down its casino as part of the island-wide efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

As for its sewage project, IPI has yet to complete the job, Camacho said. The deadline for the construction of a lift station was in March.

“We are now in communicating with IPI regarding the project,” Camacho said, adding that CUC has already constructed a new generator building for a backup generator for the lift station in Garapan.
