WiFi on Wheels Initiative

Due to Covid-19, many students are relying on learning from home, but not every family has equitable access to the internet. Therefore, the WOW initiative was developed to allow the continuation of learning enrichment, communication, and access to information for students and community members who do not have free access to the internet. PSS has equipped its school busses with WiFi capabilities and will mobilize them to locations throughout Saipan, with Tinian and Rota launched on June 1. Community members must bring their own devices to connect to the free WiFi, and content filtering is programmed to avoid access to inappropriate sites.

Maintain Social Distancing

The WOW Initiative will be practicing social distancing and safety measures for the protection of the public. Visitors are encouraged to drive to the locations and connect to the internet while remaining in their cars. Walkers are also permitted within the vicinity but must wear a mask or face covering and avoid close contact with others.

Additional Information

For more information about the WOW Initiative, please visit the Office of the Commissioner of Education, located on Capital Hill in Building # 1211, or call 664-3845. Updates will be provided on the CNMI PSS Facebook page at

The PSS WOW Initiative would not be possible without the partnerships with the Department of Public Lands, the Commonwealth Ports Authority, the Youth Affairs Office, the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa, Docomo Pacific, and IT&E.
