THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. and the Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday announced that another individual has tested  positive for coronavirus.

This brings the total Covid-19 cases in the CNMI to 38.

The latest case was identified through incoming travelers’ fifth-day screening test.

All travelers arriving on Saipan must submit themselves to two Covid-19 tests —  one upon arrival at the airport and another on the fifth day of their arrival.

The patient is now confined at Kanoa Resort for monitoring.

“CHCC has already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts — passengers on the same flight, close family members, friends and associates — of the newly confirmed case,” CHCC stated.

The individual is the 15th person identified through port of entry screening procedures.

As of July 21, the CHCC Covid-19 dashboard stated that Precinct 1 had accumulated 16 cases; Precinct 2, six; Precinct 3, 14; Precinct 4, one; Precinct 6, one; and Precincts 5 and 7 have none.
