THE newly completed children's park on Capital Hill is now open to the public, Rep. Joel Camacho said.

Camacho, the main proponent of the project, said his vision is to open  more facilities where community members can participate in physical activities.

"I know we have to comply with the Covid-19 directives, but we also need  something that will help our people, including kids, stay active and occupied," he added.

The children's park on Capital Hill includes a monkey bar, a slide, a swing, concrete benches, a children's volleyball court, and a climbing wall.

Camacho said solar lights will also be installed at the park so people can use it even during nighttime.

"And my office will do its best to maintain the park in collaboration with the Division of Parks and Recreation," he added.

The project was funded  by his office and  the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation.

"I am asking  our community members to please help keep this and our other parks clean," Camacho said.

He also expressed  appreciation to the governor’s Office of Grants Management, the Saipan mayor's office, and the Department of Corrections outreach program  for installing the concrete tables and benches at the children’s park on Capital Hill.
