A GROUP known as  M2 Fitness Strong Zumba Movers offers a new physical fitness program on Saipan.

Fitness instructor Mary Grace Bautista, a licensee of Zumba International Network, said the group was launched on Aug. 30 and its goal is to help encourage the people of the CNMI to stay fit and healthy.

She said they meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the TSL Sports Complex from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  The fitness program includes Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Hip-Hop and Pop dance moves.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., participants undergo the Strong High Intensity Interval Training or HIIT Workout, which involves core strengthening, abs workout, toning using body weight and all other ripped workouts.

Bautista is assisted by Strong  HIIT Workout instructor Mishael “Mita” Pelicano.

More than 50 individuals have already joined the program, Bautista said.

“We are aiming to  motivate more people to stay fit and healthy,” she said. “We must love ourselves first and then everything will fall in line.”

Bautista said their group is a non-profit fitness organization that accepts any community member on Saipan.

“Everyone is welcome as long as they don’t have health issues that could prevent them from moving fast,” she said.

Soon they will offer Zumbini for children ages 4 to 7 years old, and 8 to 11 years old.

Since they are a non-profit organization, they use their personal funds to purchase needed equipment, Bautista said.

“We welcome financial support to assist our program,” she added as she  expressed appreciation to the TSL Sports Complex management for letting the group use its facilities.

The other members of the group are Danna Faye Gatbonton, Denzel Floyd Gatbonton, Fe Salas, Faye La Torre and Karen Tan.
