THIS is an Economics 400 (senior) course level work on Economics & Election Politics which is really all about turning the tide from the previous adversities of a society into prosperity which was the most challenging part of my senior course work in Economics.

We were challenged by our instructor, who happened to be Iranian giving us a very broad perspective on macro-economics. He would challenge us to turn adverse events in Democracies & Socialist Countries into potential prosperity outcomes showing the contrasting approaches. If you have heard of the expression “turning nothing into something” which seems impossible, then you understand the challenge at the laymen’s level which is why the challenge is so simple yet the solution can be exceptionally challenging and complex.  My slogan when I was Consulting was “the difficult I can do right away and the impossible will just take a little longer” and turning nothing into something is what WE the People face now, which is why WE the People must take the opportunity in this election to turn the NOTHING Mess that our Republicans leaders have created into SOMETHING that can ONLY be done by Democrats, not Independents who will be powerless AGAIN if elected, no disrespect intended just speaking TRUTH!

“The trials and tribulations of adversity often point to the transportation (method or means to change) and the reformation (reform goals) that need to be achieved,” Ambrose M. Bennett, BA Economics. OUR challenges are really simple as they are all looking us dead-in-the-face yet our Republican leaders are asking us-folks-in-the-cheap-seats for ideas on WHAT should they do which means turning the adversities we now face into prosperity is really UP TO us-folks-in-the-cheap-seats (the VOTERS of the CNMI.” WE the People only get the chance to do repairs on our Government every two years and its should be clear to all our Government is broken. So, WE must do like Michelle & Barack Obama and many others have said: “vote like your like your life depends upon it —  because it DOES” because WE can’t afford another breakdown with our Economy under these Republicans!

It's not a secret that the Republicans have literally “sold-us-OUT” to China that has brought a few years of bearing fruits for the CNMI but over two decades of one adversity after another with no real growth and expansion of our Economy. My beef is not so much with the Chinese People as it is with the Government & Crooked Chinese Investors that can’t be controlled as WE now know it is a fact the Chinese Government was involved with IPI’s efforts and our Governor, which is a BIG NO-NO! So, if WE the People of the CNMI are to ever even start turning the adversities we now face into prosperity WE must first cut as many ties as WE can with China who is not an ally of America and Chinese Investors and start trying to rebuild our relationship with Japan, especially as most of the CNMI’s Tourist Sites and Tourism Foundation was Japan, our ally.

FYI doubters of what I’m proposing, “if one is not your ally (friend) then they are more than likely your ENEMY — and that is WHO the CNMI is in bed with thanks to the Republicans. WE have been getting warnings about China EVER-SINCE but our Republican leaders just kept taking us father and father down the Chinese Road to the point that we are now literally saturated with China’s influence — just take a look around.  The sad part is we already saw the pilot episode of this series with China when the Republicans were listening to Chinese businessmen and kept refusing to do what the Feds were warning us to do about our alien workers until the Feds took-over our Immigration Rights just like they saved us from a corrupt Republican Lt. Gov. and now they are going to save us from the Governor. I can only say please WAKE-UP CNMI VOTERS and fix our broken Government!

WE should all thank Mr. BC Cook for his informative Editorials, especially the ones on China as he warned us about how the Chinese Government “Salami-slices” it way into power and control in our Region of the Pacific.  More recently, he warned us about how China’s power is continuing to grow and that WE (the CNMI) might want to keep a closer eye on Quad (Japan, United States, India and Australia, thus the Quad) as Quad is trying to “check China’s efforts.” The CNMI really needs to be aware of what they are saying and doing as it will directly or indirectly affect the CNMI.

The reason I mentioned China is because our very FIRST STEP to turn our economic adversities into real opportunities for prosperity will be to make a DEFINITIVE decision of which transportation (primary country(s)) the CNMI will build or re-build the base our Tourism Market upon that will take us tooooo prosperity. It is no longer a question of “restarting our economy” but the reality that WE must virtually “rebuild the Tourism section of our Economy and diversity our economic base” almost from the bottom-up. But believe it or not, the failure of IPI to deliver along with the pandemic has truly been what us-old-folks with unadulterated wisdom see as “a blessing in disguise.”  The adversities of IPI, corruption in the Executive & Legislative Branches with pending Federal Indictments along with the elections has been the “perfect storm” to give genuine CAUSE for the People to reflect on the mess our Republicans have made and more importantly the opportunity to EFFECT and “fix our broken government and to fully rebuild our Economy for the BETTER.” In the world of “Science the phenomena of turning adversity into prosperity is really all about “Causes & Effects” and we already know the causes so the only question in taking the first step is what effects or should I say WHO are the People going to invoke (vote FOR) in the pending election — it’s really that simple as the next leaders of the CNMI will have to take that all important FIRST STEP for us ALL. To be continued with Part II on turning Adversity-into-Prosperity. One people One Direction
