Fear no evil

GOVERNOR Ralph DLG Torres and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios are focused on the people of the Marianas, and this can be seen in the islands’ preventive measures against the spread of the  Covid-19 pandemic.

Their administration is also finding ways to diversify the economy and identify new markets for our tourism industry.

As the press secretary has stated, House members and senators should also propose ways to improve the economy so the government can have enough revenue to pay its obligations to the people.

In a recent homily at the cathedral, the priest talked about Matthew 14:22-33 which is about courage and faith. Also inspiring is Psalm 147: “The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.” And “the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Then there’s the ever popular Psalm 23: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.”

I hope we and our leaders can set aside politics and work together with faith in God and for the good of our Commonwealth.
