KEN Song and Colin Ramsey were among those who made their way past the first round on Sunday in the men’s singles of the 2020 White-Coconut Classic at the American Memorial Park tennis courts.

Ken Song displayed his prowess on the paint as he silenced Eugene Park. Song found his rhythm early and stuck to it with an aggression that overwhelmed Park, 6-0, in the first set. Park failed to come up with an answer in the second set as Song powered his way to another 6-0 victory to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.

Song will be going head to head with Colin Ramsey who defeated Gerald Boyer.

In their match, Ramsey had his guard up as Boyer stood toe-to-toe during the first few exchanges. Ramsey soon broke the stalemate and won the first set, 6-2. He was unstoppable in second set as he shut Boyer down 6-0.

Also joining the quarterfinals are Malika Miyawaki who triumphed over Daniel Kang 6-1, 6-1; TJ Bellama who beat Sean Lee 6-1, 6-0; Jeff Race who took out Vincent Tudela 6-2, 6-1; and Ji Hwan Ryu who sent Steven Goodwin home 6-2, 6-4.

Robbie Schorr and Jimin Woo also got through the quarterfinals with a bye.

In the women’s singles, Lydia Tan, Seon Hee Kim and Sarka Jambor have made their way to the quarterfinals. Lee Ella and Elizabeth Culp will face off this Saturday to fill the last spot in the final four.
