Marianas Visitors Authority community project coordinator Ed Diaz said despite the global Covid-19 outbreak, MVA remains committed to reach its target goal of 750 participants and has already registered close 700 from the mainland U.S., Japan and locally.

As of Feb. 14, he added, a total of 131 participants had signed up for the 5k distance, 328 for the 10k distance, 159 for the half marathon distance, and 81 for the full marathon.

“Even though some flights are suspended, we are still getting participants,” Diaz told Variety.

The full marathon, the first of the four categories, will start at 4:30 a.m. From Micro Beach, the runners will make their way past the former Mariana Resort, turn back to Chalan Pale Arnold and then down to the Pacific Islands Club and back to Micro Beach.

The half marathon will start at 5:30 a.m. with runners proceeding to PIC and back.

The 10k race will start at 5:45 a.m. The route is from Micro Beach to the G4S building on Beach Road.

As for the 5k race, it will begin at 6 a.m. Runners will head to 13 Fishermen Memorial and back.

All runs will be on the southbound lane.

MVA would like to advise the general public and drivers to please watch out for runners. Pet owners in the areas from Tanapag to San Roque, and Beach Road to San Antonio are requested to have their dogs tied.
