Shirley’s was steady throughout the match against Matansa Football Club. But it took SFC a while to get its players’ feet wet as it was MFC that struck the first blow after 14 minutes of back and forth action with MD Amzad Khan ending the break to give his team the lead.

SFC found its rhythm about midway through the first half. Persistency was the key as SFC players continuously attacked every time they could. Mingguang Au finally scored at the 27th minute mark to tie the game. SFC’s second goal, courtesy of Wesley Bogdan, followed not long after as MFC could not keep the wall up.

MFC struggled throughout the second half and could not keep up with SFC’s pressure. SFC added two more goals at the 70th and 80th minute marks thanks to Lalaine Pagarao as her team secured the win, 4-1.

Island Star joined the celebration after powering past the Women’s National Team 4-2.

It was a fairly even match with Island Star drawing first blood and the Women’s NT retaliating 10 minutes later.

The Women’s NT then gave a good scare as Kaithlyn Chavez scored at the 58th minute mark. However, their reign was short-lived as Island Star answered back with three consecutive goals. Kai-Jiun Ma, Han Wu and Guang Zhi Jin contributed a goal each as Island Star bested the Women’s NT, 4-2.
