Kanoa’s players did not waste any time as they quickly found the back of the net just four minutes into the game courtesy of Brian Lubao. Matansa adjusted to the tempo of Kanoa but only held out for nine minutes as Markus Toves joined the scoreboard at the 13th minute mark to extend Kanoa’s lead, 2-0.

Matansa finally found some breathing space and defended against most of the incoming attacks. But Kanoa eventually broke through once more, finding Toves deep inside enemy territory as he slipped in his second goal before halftime. Kanoa remained on top, 3-0.

The second half was no different as Kanoa’s dominance continued to grow with six more goals.

Ruben Guerrero started the run and scored at the 41st minute mark followed by Lubao two minutes later. Jaydee Jose then took over the spotlight as he squeezed in three goals to complete the hat-trick and defeat Matansa by a mile, 9-0.

MP United had a tougher battle but managed to run away with the win thanks to a second-half push that took down the TanHoldings Football Club, 4-2.

THFC drew first blood, scoring in the first two minutes of the game, thanks to Mark Costales. MPU then answered with two goals in a row by Dev Bachani and Garrett Weaver to snatch the lead 2-1. THFC mustered up enough strength to fight back and even the score, 2-2, at the 27th minute mark with a goal from Jerald Aquino.

But THFC was nowhere to be seen in the second half. The continuous pressure from MPU kept THFC’s players back so they could protect their turf, but MPU’s Jerick Quimzon and Richard Castro sealed the deal with a goal each to give their team a 4-2 victory.
