IF you’re stuck at home and want to work out but do not have the equipment to do so, you should check out the Latte Built 24-hour fitness and nutrition Facebook page and join the "home bootcamp" online sessions hosted by Alberto Jesus L. Roberto.

A certified personal trainer and supervisor at Latte Built, Roberto said the home bootcamp is held Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"I teach workouts mostly without having to use any equipment, but sometimes we use household objects such as water bottles and towels. We target upper body, lower body, and core. The main focus is time under tension,” he told Variety.

His sessions, for example, involve intense push-ups. As he goes down in a controlled rhythm, he pauses for two seconds before pushing back up in an explosive way. As he pushes himself back up, moreover, he contracts and squeezes the targeted muscle. In this case, it will be the chest muscles.

Participants perform various other exercises and routines that can be done at home, he added.

“Covid-19 has affected me both in a good and bad way,” Roberto said. “The bad is the unemployment because of the temporary gym shutdown. It also affected my weekly training and daily routines. The good is that, now, I spend more time with family and try out different activities that I have never done before.”

The Latte Built 24-hour fitness and nutrition Facebook page is now sponsored by Marpac and Michelob Ultra.

“They thought it would be a great way to get their brands out there and help us out a little bit financially with our current situation — we’re nearly at 900 people participating on our page now,” Latte Built owner Derek Cutting said.
