Enrico Valdez hosts online fitness classes

LOOKING for high-intensity interval training but don't have the knowledge or equipment?

Look no further as Enrico Valdez conducts live Evolution Fitness-HIIT online classes on the Latte Built 24 Live Home Workouts Facebook page.

Valdez, a personal trainer with Latte Built, shares his workout routines online every Friday morning and evening for an hour each. The morning session from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. focuses on full upper body exercises that target the chest, shoulders, back, and arms. The evening session from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. focuses on the lower body and targets the quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calf muscles. In addition, Valdez incorporates at least 20 minutes of core/ab exercises at the end of both classes.

To cope with the lack of equipment, Valdez incorporates household items. "My main focus as an instructor is to make sure my exercises are effective, creative, fun, and safe for my viewers to perform. The equipment I use with my classes consists of random at-home stuff such as water bottles, laundry detergent, and a backpack filled with textbooks. Some examples of my exercises are pushups, squats, and planks while wearing a backpack with textbooks to make the exercises challenging and effective.”

Valdez believes that participants can maintain their muscle mass, muscular endurance/strength, and core stability if they do his workouts consistently.

For those who can't join his online sessions but still want to find a way to work out and lose weight, this is his advice: “Focus on the things that you can control such as your diet and cardiovascular health. Eating clean will maintain your health and promote weight loss if done correctly. When things get back to normal and the gyms are finally open, you won't be giving yourself a harder time trying to lose that extra quarantine weight. As for your cardio, all you need is 20-30 minutes of brisk walking or jogging every day on Beach Road, at the track, or even around your house. For those saying they can't make time to exercise — we have all the time in the world because of this pandemic so we have no excuses.”
