THE Irish Cart Bombs took home the perpetual trophy after emerging triumphant in the 11th Wollak Golf Classic at the Kingfisher Golf Course on Friday.

The Irish Cart Bombs — Yogi Singh, Glenn Smith, Steve Mullin and Eric O'Malley — competed with 60 other players in the team-based tournament with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun.

For this tournament, the front 9 was individual play while the back 9 was played in a scramble. The rules aimed to level the playing field for a wide range of handicaps so that no team had a huge advantage. The handicap of a team dictated which tee box they played from and how many mulligans they were allowed to hit.

Singh, Smith, Mullin and O'Malley shot a 66 net total to finish first. In second place were Charlie Peters, Shayne Villanueva, Brad Ruszala and Eric Davis with a net total of 67 while Tim Goodwin, Tina Goodwin, Robyn Speath and Chris Nelson settled for third with a 67 (1/3) net total.

For his part, Jeremy Rother  hit his first ever hole-in-one on hole #15. It was the second time in Wollak Golf Classic history that a golfer has had a hole-in-one.
