FREDDIE Cataluna fired a sizzling 8-under par 64 to win the Filtaga’s turkey shootout  and unseated 2019 turkey titlist Ruben Avendano, who came home with a 5-over par 77 at the well-maintained LaoLao Bay East course over the weekend.

Cataluna, who is a 4-handicapper and perennial cub champion, finished his successful campaign, collecting birdies at Nos. 4, 6, 8, 15, and 17. He almost made a hole- in-one at No. 4, landing his shot 8 inches to the hole.

Asked about his fine play and best score so far, Cataluna said that everything seemed to have gone well with some luck although there were few sorry misses. “I failed to convert four birdie chances at Nos. 3, 7, 12, and 18.  The shortest of which was a 4-foot putt at No. 3 and another 5-foot miss at No. 18.”

The exciting performance won Cataluna cash price and the fresh-cooked turkey and ham that go to the winner. Finishing behind him is Henry Bautista, who carded a 4-under par 68 wile Albert Pajarillaga took third place honors with an even-par 72.

Pajarillaga was declared the November tour winner as Cataluna and Bautista have already qualified for the playoff in January 2021.

On the Par 3 sideshow, Freddie took Nos. 4 and 15. Jose “Kamikaze” Camacho grabbed No. 6, and Ruben Avendano claimed No. 11,
