KFC Saipan will reopen its restaurant for diners on Friday with safety measures in place, store manager Reyole Aldan said.

The newly renovated restaurant can accommodate more than 100 customers, but will allow only 40 to ensure safety, she added.

KFC was among the establishments that were damaged by Super Typhoon Yutu in Oct. 2018.

The repair and renovation work have stretched for more than a year because of issues with the delivery of off-island materials.

“Covid-19 pandemic further delayed the construction because we need to wait for the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s instructions concerning the work situation,” Aldan said. “Finally we are reopening and are ready to welcome our customers.”

The restaurant is now divided into two areas.

The left side is for customers who want to dine in. Tables with four seats are separated from each other as required by the social distancing protocols.

The right side is where diners can get their orders and for customers who are collecting their food for takeout.  In this area, there are markings on the floor that will guide the customers on where to stand. The counter area has a protective shield.

When entering the restaurant, customers are asked to put on their face masks. One crew member is assigned to get the temperature of each person entering the establishment. Hand sanitizer is  available at the door.

“All our employees are Covid-19 ServSafe trained,” Aldan said. “Everything that we do complies with the public health directives.”

KFC had closed its door for dine-in for more than three months, but continued to serve the community through takeout and delivery.

“We also continued to conceptualize different promos because our customers are always looking forward to them. It is our way of helping our customers — giving them more than their money’s worth during the time of pandemic,” Aldan said.

For its reopening on Friday, KFC is introducing three new promos:

  • “Fourth Meal On Us” will run from July 24 to 31, 2020. Customers will get a special chicken meal for free if they buy three KFC boxed meals.

Box 1 contains three-piece chicken and two small sides and a medium drink for $10.29. Box 2 has two-piece chicken, two small sides, and a medium drink for $8.09. Box 3 has three-piece strip chicken, two small sides and a medium drink for $8.19. The fourth box, which is free, has one-piece chicken, two small sides and a medium drink.

  • KFC-Niners will run on July 24, 25, and 26. All customers with a receipt number ending in 9 will get a special treat during KFC-Niners weekend.
  • With “Chomp Hour Deal” customers will get a free KFC gift voucher worth $5 for every $25 single receipt purchase during Chomp Hour, which is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The promo period is from July 31 to Aug. 7, 2020.

“Our Chomp Hour” is KFC’s version of “happy hours,” Aldan said.

KFC  is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“We are excited to welcome you back. Have your KFC way — dine-in, takeout or delivery,” said Ramona Jones, J&G/KFC and Taco Bell chief executive officer.
