(Press Release) — Joeten Stores, in partnership with Eats Easy, has launched its “Easy Grocery” app. The app allows customers on Saipan to order groceries and household staples online and have them delivered directly to their door.

Joeten has been working on the launch of the app for the past several months.

“We approached the Eats Easy team in March 2020. After numerous meetings, discussions, trial runs here and there, we are excited to now launch the Easy Grocery app,” Gederryn Domingo, Joeten marketing manager, said. “We are glad we can partner with and support another small business (Eats Easy) to offer a wider range of service that’s not just with food.”

After downloading the app, customers will select the Joeten location nearest them, then they will add the grocery items they wish to order in their online cart. Once submitted, a Joeten customer service representative will receive the order and begin collecting the items. Once prepared by Joeten, the order is handed off to the Eats Easy service team for pickup and delivery. Delivery cost is $5.

“Depending on the store location chosen by the customer and the location of drop off, arrival time is similar to ordering your food for delivery or take out,” Domingo said.

Orders are processed in line with Eats Easy’s delivery hours: 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Timing of the app’s launch has come at an opportune time for the Saipan community with the ongoing restrictions and precautions due to Covid-19.

“With the current situation our community is facing, we know that everyone is being as cautious, careful and safe as they can be, which includes minimum exposure to public areas such as the supermarket or grocery store,” Domingo said. “With the use of advance technology these days and almost everyone has cell phones — society is no stranger to online shopping. Having the option to get your groceries and daily needs also delivered offers convenience and time savings.”

The app offers many items customers can find at Joeten stores, but items such as produce and frozen products are not available for order within the app. Domingo notes, though, that the product listing will continue to grow in the future.

As a special promotion for the launch, the first 50 customers to order on the app will receive a free Joeten Eco Bag with their order.

The app is available for download on both Apple Store and Google Play.
