The victim’s home was burglarized on the morning of April 7, 2011. His silver Dell Inspiron laptop, which was located in the dining room — and not in the laptop bag as erroneously reported — and its charger were stolen by the burglars. The Oakley laptop bag, which contained the NMC check and two personal checks among other items, was also in the dining room, separated from the laptop, where it was also stolen by the burglars. The electronic cigarette box was on the kitchen counter — there were no checks inside of it — when it too was stolen by the burglars. The victim did not lose these items. The victim, moreover, did not personally witness the suspects forging the check and receiving cash for it at the store. The victim was not present at the time of the forgery but viewed it on the store’s surveillance tape later.
In the news story “Seman Joins Palacios in DFW,” which was also published on April 26, it was incorrectly reported that Marianne C. Teregeyo was going back to enforcement at the Division of Fish and Wildlife. She is the special assistant to the Department of Land and Natural Resources secretary and she held that position while she was the acting DFW director.
