THE TRUTH of the matter is every politician should strive to MAKE-SURE that she/he does some things that their constituents can see, feel for themselves or family or touch something like a structure like Rep. Thomas John Dela Cruz Manglona and his family did for Precinct 5 for Christmas. He passed out a lot of free lunches until they ran out. He even set up a place with tables so people could gather and eat together. When my wife came home I had to say something because this is at the very CORE of what our politicians should be doing, not putting more taxes on the people that they can feel but believe me they don’t like and will remember it when they get in the voting booth.

It’s not even so much about giving something to the people but doing something that the people can see, feel and even touch is what makes a GREAT politician. I previously mentioned former Rep. Stanley Torres and Rep. Edwin Propst is known for going out in the precinct to help people. As for me Stanley and Propst are two great politicians who didn’t have to campaign because they did things that their constituents could see, feel personally or touch physical — for TRUE!  Doing things like creating so many revenue sources you don’t have to worry about raising taxes — put the horse IN-FRONT of the cart and not the other way around, if you get what I mean.

KUDOS to Rep. Thomas John Dela Cruz Manglona and thanks for lunch and Christmas Spirit. Wishing the entire CNMI a Happy Holiday Season. I’ll be hoping and praying for all of us that the New Year will bring more things that WE the People can see, feel or touch in a positive way.
