OPINION | Ambrose at PSS-NMC & in the CNMI

I was recently interviewed by Ms. Catherine Perry for her Humanities Half-Hour Show whom I must thank and offer KUDOS as her show is not just to inform the public but also to help the People of the CNMI. I realized after hearing myself and what I had to say I think it would be all important and helpful for “teachers, educators, parents and the general public” to hear. I know many may have heard the interview when it aired but I also know many didn’t which is why I wrote this article. In my 30 plus years in the CNMI I have seen and done a lot of things which was all done in my efforts to help educators and the CNMI so I am hopeful that readers will check-out my interview and share it with others whom you think might want to hear it.

Like most students, I was given the confidence to start writing by one of my teachers at NMC when I was doing my “Teacher Certification Course Work” for the CNMI — the late Ms. Dominic Buckley who told me: “Ambrose you can write a textbook, as you have it in you to be a writer” which I did. Now I’m a good and even a prolific writer and I am hopeful that I have inspired my students to reach for the stars and planets with their talents whatever they may be. I also want to thank all the GOOD People of the CNMI for accepting me into-their-fold and especially Justo Quitugua who recruited me, Ms. Jean Olopai and former Commissioner William Torres who supported me in making it possible for me to become a teacher and a contributor to our Education System and to the CNMI’s Society. I also want to thank the late Bishop Camacho who put his faith in me to lead in stopping the casino when it was put to a vote, which I did along with the help of others like my Uncle Larry Cabrera who was also in that meeting with me and the Bishop and our present Bishop Ryan for supporting me and allowing the Publication of my messages in the North Star.

Please go to YouTube and search “Humanities Ambrose Bennett” and the interview will pop-up first. I am sure that all educators, parents and the general public will learn something they didn’t know. THANKS CNMI for ALL that you have done to support me and my family on our journey through life. One People One Direction for a better Education System and a better CNMI!
