I got it on good authority from a newly elected Representative that he is already pushing for Angel Demapan to be the next Speaker of the House. Angel was with Fitial and now he is with Torres who he sent out to beat Kilili but was slaughtered and now he has the nerve to want to make him the Speaker. Angel Demapan was the MAIN one benefiting from and helping IPI by BETRAYING his People! OMG, as the idea of him being the speaker makes my blood boil, for TRUE! He didn’t even wait until the election was official because he could be wasting his time if another Democrat is determined to be a winner and they will have a majority which is a real possibility. But he has some never to try and still influence the power within the House of Representatives when he virtually has one-foot in a Jail cell. There is already talk of the bribes, the threats and other tactics that will be at play to get someone to cross the aisle to support the Republicans.
NO, NO, NO to Angel Demapan being the Speaker of the House and NO, NO, NO to Republicans being in control of the House as WE the People want to move FORWARD and not go back to the same old Republican BS in our House of Representatives. I think I speak for the majority when I say WE the People have seen ENOUGH Republican leadership over our Legislature to last for a while if not a very long time. Speaker Attao and his Republicans couldn’t even complete a simple investigation of some receipts signed by the Governor which tells me NO Republican should be the Speaker of the House and I will personally start a protest if they pull this ugly trick on the People. The People did send a “MANDATE” for our Legislature as the MAIN reason so many Democrats won is because the People of the CNMI want to see a Democrat Speaker with Democrats in control of the House.
If Angel Demapan or a Republican becomes the Speaker of the House there is going to be a ground-swell of rejection placed on the Republicans in the House that will surely be dealt with in the next election. Why the Governor even has the ability to influence these cronies is beyond me when the FBI haven’t even got started with him which tells me they are a bunch of COWARDS as this is not about loyalty to him or the Party but loyalty to the People who want something BETTER, DIFFERENT & NEW!!! Why even have an election if nothing really changes is the real question and I for one want to make sure WE the People will see some real changes in our Government. The People of the CNMI are not stupid and the Republicans can try this skullduggery to bribe, cheat, or scare their way to power but they need to know they WILL NOT get away with it in the end. WE got rid of some of you but the next time WE the People will oust all of you if you try to take OUR victory with the Democrats away — for TRUE and you can take that to the BANK Republicans!
The Governor & Voters
The Governor is literally holding a candle that is burning fast on both ends, which means he is about to get burned by the Feds and/or the Legislature and he wants Angel as Speaker to protect him. The Governor tried to cut of the Head of the Democrats like he did in the last election with the attacks on Ed Propst but the People still voted Propst in with the MOST votes of all the candidates and he should be the NEW Speaker. How can Angel who barely made the team coming in dead last in his Precinct be the Speaker when there are other Republicans who got far more votes than him — the Governor even disrespects his fellow Republicans for his personal intentions. But the Governor knows Angel will go down fighting for him like he has already proven with the Delegate race he lost which tell me the Governor does really think he is some kind of Godfather for him to even think he can pick the Speaker and continue to control and manipulate our Government for HIS personal intentions.
WE the People did good but we needed to do great like the voters on the mainland who set record voting numbers to get rid of Trump. WE the People really needed to generate real change with an overwhelming majority of Democrats but now WE are flirting with things being the same with Angel being the Speaker. WE the People really didn’t give the Democrats all the votes they needed and now the Power hangs in the balance depending upon the final voting tabulations being official. For me, I don’t think those who voted Republican who were not friends and family didn’t really get-it that they were voting for things to stay the same. The Democrats may not be perfect but they ARE our ONLY option to ending this CORRUPT Style of Republican Rule over the CNMI. WE must vote all of most of them OUT! So, let this be a lesson for the next election for Governor because we need a Government that is fully controlled by Democrats for CHANGE if WE truly wanted things to be BETTER with real CHANGE!!!
I’m sure most readers know the last thing the Governor wants is for the Democrats to control the House because WE the People won’t have to wait any longer for him to be investigated and convicted and even impeached by our Legislature for “misusing OUR money” and “fraudulent air-travel purchases.” If the Republicans that did get re-elected have any real integrity or character, they will let the Democrats take the leadership without a fight given how they messed-up. But we will see as “time is on our side” because there will be another election in just two years. To be continued: One People One Direction.
Footnote: Black Lives Matter may not MATTER to the Republicans on the mainland but I bet they just learned that Black Votes do MATTER! The CNMI Republicans don’t believe my voice and Public Opinion MATTERS, which why they are so bold with their skullduggery so WE the People may have to teach then with PROTESTS & VOTES that our VOTES and our VOICEs MATTER!
