THE TRUTH of the matter is Ambrose M. Bennett is a real Economist who tells the TRUTH about our Economy, our Politics and our Social Fabric. In over two decades of writing letters to the Editor and Op eds, NO ONE has ever been able to call me a liar, which tells me and those with common sense that there is an extraordinary amount of denial among our leaders about Ambrose’s ideas and even more so the futile attempts to try and discredit and even assassinate my character and yet I’m still standing tall. I guess they didn’t get the memo that “Ambrose has NO SHAME in his game and that Ambrose is a real Scholar, Sociologist, Economist and Political Scientist who can defend himself in all 360 degrees while standing on a square.” Those who have the true wisdom and understanding of the founding of America know what this statement means when it comes to “doing battle with the powers-that-be.”
I was naive to think that I would be working for a “Think-Tank in Washington” after graduation at a time when there were no Black Economist in Washington. But the difference now is that I had the audacity to think that I, an outsider, could repay the People of the CNMI for their warn and heartfelt embrace & support for over the years by providing Economic advice to our leaders. But to be honest, I now think that my activism has “hurt more than it has helped” because our leaders have continued to acknowledge the simple fact that Ambrose just might be RIGHT and is telling the TRUTH. The TRUTH can be a very powerful instrument but when our leaders are in denial and even do everything to prevent the ideas or change them so Ambrose doesn’t get credit has only served to harm the People.
Ambrose’s activism was embarrassing when Ambrose told the TRUTH warning about the Garment Industry leaving five years in advance and our leaders failed to listen or do anything, only to act surprised when the Garment Industry left in the middle of the night on December 31, of 2005. It is embarrassing when Ambrose told the TRUTH and was successful working to help Bishop Camacho’s desire to prevent the Casino. It is embarrassing for Ambrose to tell the TRUTH to our leaders to do a better job with the maintenance of the local languages that are becoming more dysfunctional every day due to the absence of new words, especially to address the technological changes in our language. But they don’t care if it means stopping Ambrose.
It was embarrassing and even resentful for Ambrose to tell the TRUTH about Article XII’s deficiencies, even though Ambrose supports a “proper & necessary form of land preservation FOR the people. It is embarrassing for Ambrose to be the only one to do the research for the Dept. of Education & the People that determined the TRUE origin of many local things (language, customs, names, and plants & trees). It was embarrassing for Ambrose to tell the TRUTH about Sugar Dock and its potential only see Ambrose was right, just look at the Dock today. It’s embarrassing for Ambrose to have told the TRUTH about the switch from Japanese Tourists to Chinese tourists that would kill our Japanese Market. It’s embarrassing that Ambrose told the TRUTH about the mistake of getting in bed with a Rival (China) of America instead of America’s Ally (Japan), which is taught in High School Social Studies classes. It’s embarrassing that Ambrose told the TRUTH about the casino and the crime that it would generate. It’s embarrassing that Ambrose toots his own horn by exposing the fact that the “Cannabis Tourism Industry and the Hemp Industry were the ideas of Ambrose and no one can come forth to dispute this TRUTH! Even though its law, the reason there is no Hemp Industry is, it was Ambrose’s idea.
Ambrose is the only one complaining about the Marianas Resort, which is why our leaders refuse to even try to issue a simple RFP to lease the PEOPLE’s Hotel. Heck, our leaders would rather see that hotel rot than to yield to the admonishments of TRUTH by Ambrose — pathetic! It’s embarrassing for Ambrose to try and help the NMDs and expose MPLT for its negligence in using the funds collected to HELP the NMDs. Heck, one Senator complained about the Senate not working on the Bill to give NMDs’ the interest money but when they became the Senate President, still nothing but I will keep fighting for NMDs’, as some of them are MY Children. You can’t fix a problem (our Economy nor anything) with the same mind-set that caused the problem, Albert Einstein. It’s on our leaders the change their mind-set of biasness and unprofessionalism towards Ambrose & non-locals, and WE the People are wondering why our Economy is so fickle when evil is trying to stop the very Economic progress that is needed to find prosperity for all in the CNMI. Need I say more about Ambrose telling the TRUTH because the People are paying for the fact that our leaders refuse to listen to the TRUTH.
One People One Direction.
