REGARDING the Covid 19 booster shot — is it free? Our people are practically forced to get the vaccine and then they are told that they owe the CNMI government? The vaccine and booster Shot to my knowledge is FREE. Then why is CNMI public health demanding payments from individuals with little or no income? In the U.S. all vaccines to include booster shots are free. I challenge all CNMI elected leaders and the office of our Washington delegate to look into this matter.
Thank you, and you all have a Merry Christmas. Please enjoy and stay safe CNMI.
Sincerely,
JOSEPH PALACIOS
Former House member

CHCC CEO Esther Muna replies:
NO one should be billed for the vaccines or its administration. It is free to any individual. While the vaccines are free to CHCC, the administration of the vaccines can be billed to insurance companies or Medicare and Medicaid. However, if for any reason it was denied payment by the insurance, no balance billing to the patient occurs. If an individual received a bill for it, it’s obviously an error and one that can be easily corrected. They can contact our billing office to make that correction.
