It is very heartening to know that Ken Corporation, a major visitor industry player in the islands for many years now, still believes that the CNMI still has the potential, as well as the ability, to lift itself out of the economic quagmire that the CNMI has been in for several years now. A sound investor, Ken Corporation, I believe, has conducted an analysis about the future prospects of the visitor industry in the CNMI. It works hard to make sure that its business endeavors become successful. It does not sit and wait for a miracle to happen.
It is companies like Ken Corporation that our political and business leaders should try to emulate, if we are to succeed in our attempt to turn around our dismal economy. But first we need to have a well thought out plan of action. And then we have to follow up and actually implement such plan. We cannot just sit back and wait for the economy to turn around by itself.
For starters, it would be a good idea if some of our major visitor industry players, like Ken Corporation, provide our political leaders with their thoughts and suggestions on how we can turn around our poor economy. The time for action is now. Fresh ideas are needed, before the economy sinks deeper. Working together cooperatively will, I believe, be a good start.
