Letter to the Editor: Crazy

It is only fitting that we commend the staff and management but most especially the trustees that authorized the purchase. I find it hard to believe that people are still capable of doing stupid things at a time like this. But then again, is it not the time to do crazy things such as this? The worst part is they didn’t give us the chance to participate so they could get a better deal for our money. Frankly, I would have offered them my property with a view for less. If MPLT is in the real estate business like buying and selling then I understand. But if they are buying to build an office when they could have one for free is not only sickening, it stinks! Something didn’t add up here.

On another matter, I really don’t blame those landowners who are threatening to block the roads if not compensated. I, myself, own a few pieces of right-of-way that involve a major road but I will not block it because it is not nice. Plus, there’s a prior arrangement to be compensated. I just hope our leaders will do their part and act responsibly to resolve this matter once and for all. In fact, they should tap MPLT for all the right reasons. The Legislature cannot continue to compensate on a piecemeal basis or based on favoritism. We should have enough of this nonsense.
