Letter to the Editor: CRM regs

Please add that CRM regulations require a developer to have a major sitting permit for any project involving a potential for damaging the environment.

The developer submits the permit application to CRM and it is reviewed and approved by CRM regulatory agencies (DEQ, DLNR, Commerce, DPW, HPO, and CUC) before any project construction begins. Applicants are counseled at length during a pre-application conference about how to avoid harming the environment.

The permit fee for a major sitting project is only $100, if the total project cost is less than $50,000.

CRM applauds and supports eco-tourism and is proud to partner with private entrepreneurs who follow our established rules for regulating potential adverse environmental effects.
