Letter to the Editor: Dear Jesus

We’ve sought and yet we find nothing.  Are you going to do nothing?

Jesus, I understand “I still got convicted for DUI” or “I lost my job because American bankers are greedy” or “My mother didn’t survive leukemia.”

NO! What about when two little girls are abducted and simply made to vanish into torturous air?  What about that?  Where were you?  Where are you?

Can you do nothing or is it a matter of choosing to do nothing?

What have we done wrong?  We pay our tithes.  We come to worship every Sunday.  We have prayer circles.  There are prayers on Facebook.  We pray as we read this and yet you do NOTHING!

Make me believe in you, Jesus.  Give me some sign that you are there and that you are good.  Bring those girls home, safe.  That would be a start.

You can do it.  The Bible tells me so.

Thanks, Jesus.
