Letter to the Editor: Financial reform law in jeopardy

Once the Republicans take over Congress in Jan. 2011 these are their plans: to repeal the financial reform act law,  repeal the education college law, repeal the veterans reform benefit law, phase out the Medicare reform law, phase out Social Security and put it on  Wall Street, block the Dream Act and give tax breaks to the millionaires and billionaires, giving back the power to the rich fat cats.

Their next agenda is what to do with food stamps and that, folks, will affect life on Saipan. Yeah we lost the U.S. House but we still have the Senate  and the White House and they can block all these extreme plans of the Republicans.

As a college student myself  I worry about the education reform law if the Republicans decide to give it back to the fat cats who could pretty much give new enrolled college students a hard time to be accepted into universities because the Republicans want to roll back the education reform act law which helped me go back to college. Am I angry? Oh yeah I’m mad. These Republicans want to scrap food stamps which help feed millions of people in the United States and its territories.

Folks, we cannot let the fat cats decide how we’re going to live our lives. It’s time to fight back and fight on. Let’s face it, the Republicans are the ones who wrecked the U.S. economy, but voters were so mad and confused that they voted Republicans back in Congress.

Sometimes I think I live in a communist country but the last time I checked, hello!, I’m in the United States of America. We will see what the New Year has in store for us.
