Letter to the Editor: Healthcare should be the priority

I heard there are not enough beds for sick patients and we have to blame our public officials for neglecting hospital infrastructure and failing to manage its funding.

We cannot allow our loved ones to get really sick because those in charge of public health are not giving them adequate medical services.

Healthcare should be a priority and we must also ensure that our healthcare staff on all the three main islands are paid enough so they won’t be distracted when they perform their tasks. We should treat them with respect and dignity so we can  raise their morale.

But time and time again our public officials have failed to pay public health vendors. They have also failed to provide the tools and resources needed by our doctors and nurses so they can do their jobs efficiently and effectively.

Our officials need to get organized and take action to create a better environment in all our hospitals.  People cannot keep dying because of the negligence of their officials.
