Letter to the Editor: Help NMI students get $$$

Many students are in desperate need of their scholarship check(s) which are six months late.  A protest is scheduled for Monday 20th of this month if the checks are not distributed by the 17th.  I am asking all parents of students receiving scholarships and anyone who wishes to support these students to meet in front of the governor’s office on the 20th.  For the convenience of working people, the time of the protest has been changed and will be conducted during lunch time from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday in front of the governor’s office.

I will conduct this protest every Monday at lunch time until the check have been released.  I am also asking every citizen to “BLOW YOUR HORN” when passing the governor’s office starting on the 20th and to continue blowing your horn every day until the checks have been released.  Our children need our help in getting our government to fulfill its promise to them and they are truly in desperate need of these checks.

Pass this on to anyone whom you know might be concerned and interested in helping — it is vital that I get this message to all the parents of students receiving scholarships.  This will be a peaceful protest so just bring your sign and lunch — we will get results if enough people will show up.

See you there and THANKS.
