I firmly believe that since the very beginning along with your self-interest influenced constituents and colleagues within the board, the college’s accreditation was at stake.
It is true and I continued to voice out loudly and crystal clear that the political fiasco’s surrounding the only COLLEGE in the Northern Mariana Islands was being manipulated and micromanaged by a group of self-interest individuals who would not accept that one lone person, who was not from the CNMI would turn the college around and restore its accreditation without any political or self-interest gain.
Again, today NMC is back on Show Cause Status, the only difference is, it’s on a “Severe Show Cause Status.”
I wonder who would our Legislature including those that jumped on the bandwagon blame this time. I once said that NMC does not need a KING but rather a PRESIDENT who can lead.
There is that saying that in order to see and know one’s character, give him or her POWER and you shall see for the end results are always devastating.
There is no place in TRUE LEADERSHIP for personal ill-feelings, animosity and self-interest.
Remember that WASC cited many instances of your leadership along with your colleagues (board of regents) exerted influence in the operations of NMC.
As in the case where an off-island law firm was illegally hired without the approval or concurrence of a full board took place and now covered-up is the same issue when the interim president was appointment to include subsequently given a salary adjustment without the approval of a full board.
Clearly the Western Association of Schools and Colleges were correct in their assessments and in my view politics, self-interest and lack of real leadership is the downfall of NMC.
I challenge you along with your colleagues and those politicians to respond to this letter for the sake of the only COLLEGE in the CNMI and most especially to the students.
