So Kumho buys Laolao Bay golf course from UMDA for $17 million, secures from DPL a land lease for 40 years at around $100,000 a year which is around $4 million. Then is awarded by CDA with a QC for $22 million. Kumho invested a total of $21 million and the taxpayers owe Kumho about $1 million.
I would encourage taxpayers and members of the local community to stand up to this injustice. Judge Wiseman’s decision was a mistake and his ruling should be appealed immediately before the government gives away more public lands.
According to Judge Wiseman, “go ahead and don’t worry; the government will not be accountable.” I was not surprised by his decision.
