Letter to the Editor: Now we’re cookin’

Wow! A whopping 18 cents increase did send me reeling at the pumps. And you know what? I stopped to buy regular unleaded but there wasn’t any; only super unleaded. And this was early in the morning. I asked, would you be buying regular unleaded gasoline? “Yes,” was the response. I asked again, What time would that be? Oh, sometimes in late afternoon, around 5 p.m. Then the chill down my spine started creeping up because it seemed that the super unleaded at $4.95.9 perhaps was not selling very well but they wanted to sell it first before replenishing the pumps with regular unleaded at $4.80.9. So I had to buy the super or I would be pushing my little Nissan up Capital Hill. Lord, if the 18-cent increase on regular unleaded gas is not enough I don’t know what is.

Canda wants everyone to rally behind Gov. Ben Fitial for his efforts on this thermal energy project. I just hope that CUC would not find it difficult converting thermal energy to electrical energy for the power plants engines and make them work. Then, Rota’s neighboring island will turn green. I know…

Perhaps with success in the near future we could help but not as a freebie, no senot, no thank you.

Ai adai my brothers and sisters, this is the time to join our hands in prayers and leave our differences aside. Just think for a moment; because the oil refineries in Singapore and gas stations would not think of anything else.
