Letter to the Editor: Once upon a time

She claimed nonresident alien workers have employer-provided lodgings and three meals a day at very minimal cost. The alien workers are transported to and from work at employer’s expense and security guards are provided for their safety while they sleep. Employers even pay for their hospital charges.

But U.S. citizens do not have these paid privileges; rather they pay the banks for their housing loans, pay for their family’s health needs each time they visit CHC. Locals do not have security guards; neither are they transported to and from work working side by side with alien workers. OK dude?

Then there is that sign-carrying individual saying, “CUC Customer Uses Candle.” You know, I don’t understand why those protesters did not buy kerosene lanterns or electrical generators. Locals are not spared by CUC when power is turned off, scheduled or unscheduled; most frequently unscheduled.

It was also mentioned that many alien workers are not paid minimum wage. This time Canda was furious and said, “No one is stopping anyone from going to the Department of Labor to squawk OK? My goodness, go to small claims court and let the court settle this matter.”

Canda said, Was it just another way of continuing to embarrass the CNMI government?

Now, it is very, very quiet on the front line because there was no mention of permanent residency to be considered.

So it’s possible too that it would not lead to U.S. citizenships handed out on a silver platter right Canda?

Canda asked, “But sir, what is going to happen to those who contributed to that group offering U.S. citizenship and permanent residency?”

I really don’t know dai because all or most meetings are taking place with selected groups so far.

But soon the general public might be asked for their recommendations “only” after decisions are made already.

Don’t say that Canda because you don’t know what is happening.

Santa Maria dai, I wasn’t born yesterday and I went to high school too. But I might be just opening my big mouth right?

I met nao Kiki and Gil Ada, Tom Chong, Kuri and Ami Pangelinan at the Sabalu Market. Boy, lots of veggies, fritada (chitlins or diniguan) and fish so as plants, flowers and orchids are on sale too.

Love you dai Canda. OK?
