We recommended that Laolao Bay Golf Resort construct a sidewalk that would go from Tank Beach to the Kagman schools.
This was a rare opportunity because Laolao was willing to construct it for free, in exchange for the zoning permit to construct their golftel.
The zoning law requires that a company constructing a hotel must provide access to the shoreline.
I attended the zoning hearing personally and asked the board to consider our proposal. Laolao would have invested $30,000 to construct this proposed sidewalk.
This sidewalk would have been a great investment for Kagman because not much has been invested in our infrastructure.
This would have benefited the students, teachers, and pedestrians.
It would have made it convenient for many people.
Instead, the zoning board is more interested in Laolao making an access route through the golf course to a tiny beach, which would not benefit the public as much as the sidewalk would.
What’s the use of a hearing, when the recommendations of the public are overlooked?
This is truly unfortunate.
