The activity here is quite busy and the people are just a few days from choosing their leadership for their country. There doesn’t seem to be too much trust in the way the system has functioned over the past several years.
Just about everyone running for office has a sort of anti-corruption platform that seems to be the way many of them intend to get elected into office. There is no real commitment coming from anyone except that they will go into office for a term and that the future of the Philippines is their primary concern.
I think the next few days will see a candidate come up with something that will be so earth-shattering that many people will vote for that person because it will seem that they have no other choice because of the way the program was presented.
It seems that many of the things that are important in life here are being neglected by most and if people here really cared other than their overall mistrust of the government, things would probably be better for all.
Your average Joe on the street is so sick of government corruption and yet they seem to be waiting for someone to come forth and make them an offer they can’t refuse, which defeats the whole purpose of why each of the candidates should be running.
It is quite enjoyable being here at this time.
