Letter to the Editor: Rota school projects

We want to know what is the reason for the CIP office’s hold up for the advertisement.

It’s been a while since our last meeting with the Rota delegation, Mr. Loan, PTA officers and the three principals and still we have not seen any action being taken to expedite the projects.

Summer is approaching and we haven’t seen anything thus far.

Does the office of CIP need additional manpower to take action? If needed we the PTA officers would like to lend it.

Our schools are in dire need of repair and maintenance.

The following schools submitted their lists:

Sinapalo Elementary School — repair of gutters, roofing, A/C unit, stage area for performing, bus drop off canopy and perimeter fencing of the school campus.

Rota Junior High School — cover walkway from main office to classroom, collateral equipment for the newly completed classroom, science lab equipment, chairs with desks for students and text books.

Rota High School — Repair and maintenance of the gym, collateral equipment and stage area for graduation, etc.

Commissioner Sablan, we want to know why these projects are not being considered a priority.

Do we wait until an accident occurs with our teachers, staff and most of all our students?

Or do we expedite all the projects to meet the opening of the new school year 2009-2010?

Remember that the governor has 100 percent reprogramming authority and if this funding is re-allocated then the hard work of the officers, teachers, staff and, most of all, the parents will be ignored.

Provide us with information via fax to the three schools. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
