Letter to the Editor: Saipan and Guam

But when she came to Guam, she told me that the immigration personnel at the airport gave her a hard time. They told her that body lotion was not allowed on the airplane. My wife got mad. Then the officer told her next time no more lotion for hand-carry.

Same thing happened to me when I went to Guam. I had more than 30 ballpens in my hand-carry to give to my grandchildren. The immigration officer gave me a hard time and brought me to their office to check the ballpens one by one. I got mad and I told them never mind. I told the immigration officers that they could have all the ballpens and to just let me go. They gave me back all the ballpens.

But I don’t blame the Guam airport for giving us a hard time and screening our baggage. Last month the DEA confiscated a lot of “ice.”

On Guam, the casino proposal offered a million dollars for the benefit of the island plus thousands of jobs that would pay the federal rate and all the mayors would get their share and a convention center would be constructed.

All this was turned down because the people of Guam and their lawmakers said “No” to casino.

Biba Guam!

God Bless the CNMI!
