Why?
I know there are always two sides to every story and there may have been mitigating circumstances but I can think of no credible reason to release Steven Hocog from jail. His release potentially puts other children at risk from another kidnapping and/or molestation and puts Mr. Hocogs well-being in to question as well. I have talked with many a father (and a few mothers) that have said they would bury any man who endangered their children.
If we were back in the old west this type of criminal would be found swinging from a tree. I certainly do not advocate this type of justice and have a somewhat reduced faith in the judicial system but worse things have happened.
With all due respect to Judge Govendo, I pray that this lapse in judgment does not lead to another kidnapping or worse. That would be a tragedy indeed.
