Last Friday there was an article about a toll booth. I think that it’s just so useless. It’s just recycling the government funds back to the treasury. But if there were to be a toll booth, the fee should only be 25 cents — anything more than that is just an inconvenience. When I was in Korea they had cards that you can load funds into for transportation use only — i.e. buses, trains and subways. If there were to be such a booth, this would be a great way to implement that idea for both ports.
Regarding an article about business opportunities for the CNMI and its limited natural resources — I commented earlier about solar panel kits. To reduce the cost of what the government owes to the power company they should invest in solar panel kits for one department building every year or two. And when they go off-grid they can use the money saved from using solar energy to pay the power company or use it for constructive purposes. The kit costs from $7,000 to $35,000. Also, having a solar distributing company stationed on Saipan could raise the attention needed for the CNMI. Government officials always talk about ways to make the CNMI a clean environment, but how will that happen if they keep raising buildings and using more power? I heard about a solar water heater being purchased a while back. Are you SERIOUS? A solar water heater? They have all that money and they decide on a solar water heater! LOL! They should have just bought the whole system. It comes with the water heater.
For the students that graduated and were honored, I am proud to know that you are being positive in your studies even if your mom, dad, aunties and uncles are complaining about the government! LOL! I hope you all have a great future! I just hope when you go to college you DO NOT sway from your dreams because I believe in you and remember that a strong mind can change the future!
