Letter to the Editor: Surrender the NMI government to foreign workers?

This is what Mr. Babauta is trying to do to the CNMI.  If 15,816 alien workers who have resided here for more than five years are granted U.S. citizenship, by next general election, we will have former nonresident workers as our governor, lt. governor, mayors, representatives, senators, etc.

The destiny of our islands will be controlled by citizens of foreign third world countries.   And this will NOT END HERE.  MORE AND MORE of these new U.S. citizens will sponsor their families from their countries to stay and work and eventually become another batch of U.S. citizens.  IT WILL NEVER END!

How many registered CNMI voters are qualified to vote now?  According to the Commission of Election Web site, as of March 31, 2010, there were 16,102 registered voters.

So you see, we will be outnumbered very very soon and we will lose our islands to the natives of foreign countries.

Thank you Mr. Babauta, but no thanks.  You can take your recommendation and dump it in the Marianas Trench where no one can retrieve it.
