On behalf of Seisa Group, I would like to personally thank the many individuals and organizations for helping to continue the cultural exchange programs between Seisa and students from both Marianas High School and San Antonio Elementary School.
As some of you know, last year I had my stomach cancer operation and had my whole stomach removed. Work has gotten harder and I’ve lost twenty kilograms. Good thing is that work is going well. For the past years, we have been working more closely with the Japanese government in our continuing challenge of providing what is necessary for the children, and I believe we are moving forward.
Seisa is turning 38 years old on March 21. In the beginning, Seisa was a small school with only two students. Now, we have grown up to an educational organization with over 15,000 (fifteen thousand) students. We brought more than 7,000 students to Saipan. Having MHS as their base, they were able to interact with the students and the people in Saipan, and learned the importance of world peace and human relationships. It is certain that our students couldn’t have brought all the exciting and fascinating memories back to Japan without the cooperation of all the people who helped us through the years.
About 3,000 students, after participating in this program, have revisited Saipan again and again. And from Saipan, close to 1,000 MHS students have participated in the SEISA Ski Program in Japan. I believe this exchange program has come to play a very important role in education for students on both sides.
This year, I am honored and proud to announce that this program will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2011. With your cooperation, we hope to hold a memorial ceremony to happen in Saipan and Japan. We would like to have your understanding and help to further develop our program, and also ask for your support in organizing this anniversary ceremony.
Thank you very much again for welcoming us to your beautiful island. Arigato gozaimasu.
