We discussed very important issues that all of us in the CNMI would like to see pushed through in Washington come Jan. 2009. Issues such as how the implementation of federal immigration would effect our economy and our labor situation, environmental issues, transportation-related issues, the military buildup and many more that we will be debating on as we get closer to election day.
The warm reception you have given me is indicative of your desire in insuring that all of these issues that are important to us and the survival of our economy will be heard in a Democratic U.S. Congress and, perhaps, a Democratic White House.
In Washington, D.C. political affiliation is very important if our voices are to be heard and I know that I can muster the support of our long time friends there.
Again, on behalf of our chairman, Manny Sablan, my families and I would like to extend our appreciation for the hospitality during our recent gathering on Rota. Special thanks to Matias Taisacan and his family for the use of your beachfront property and also to our Rota Democratic Chairman Norbert Mundo. Un dang kulu na si yuus maase.
