Letter to the Editor: To Congressman Nick Rahall

Recently this group and Mrs. Doromal claimed “victory” after the passage of U.S. P.L. 110-229, the federalization law.

Today, as if not satisfied with the outcome of Public 110-229 and the interim regulations, they are now requesting amnesty due to humanitarian reasons.

There are far more critical humanitarian issues across the globe involving atrocities, torture, genocide and hunger to name a few — this request is undoubtedly without merit or standing.

National security and border control are the top priorities for the Mariana islands.

This  group must realize, understand and accept that everyone must submit through the administrative process just like anyone else in the United States and in our homeland and adhere to the Department of Homeland Security’s federal immigration rules.
